DescriptionThe Shay Mountain Trail #098 is 4.9 miles long.  The trail begins at Forest Road #081 and goes towards Shay Mountain. A small spring marks the end of the trail. The trail is extremely rocky and has several ledges that require some technical maneuvering. This trail includes a spur to an old mining claim as well.

DirectionsFrom Monticello, turn west onto 200 South and stay left at the Y onto Abajo Dr., continue on Harts Draw (Forest Road #049) approximately 12 miles.  Turn left onto Forest Road #100 (Indian Creek) and travel approximately 1.1 miles.  At Foy Lake (Spring Lake) turn north (right) onto Road #104 (Shay Ridge) and travel approximately 5 miles.  Turn right onto Road #082 and travel approximately 0.5 miles.  Turn right onto Road #081 and travel approximately 0.2 miles to where road ends and trail begins
